PARTNERING TO ELIMINATE HEPATITIS B IN ASIA PACIFIC HEP CAN’T WAIT ASIA WORKSHOP
The Hep Can’t Wait Asia Workshop is the first-of-its-kind viral hepatitis community workshop organized by the World Hepatitis Alliance (WHA) and supported by Gilead Sciences.
 
On July 11-12 2023, in Hong Kong, the workshop brought together 24 community-based organizations and 20 community-based representatives across 15 locations under one roof to exchange new ideas and latest approaches taken to reach the World Health Organization (WHO)’s target of eliminating hepatitis B by 2030. ​
 
In-depth insights, best local practices were exchanged, and robust discussions covered topics ranging from improving access to vaccination, testing, care, and treatment to the integration of hepatitis B with liver cancer and HIV-related services.
At the end of the Hep Can’t Wait Asia workshop, the participants agreed on a consensus statement which addresses adoptable and enforceable suggestions that public-private-community collaboration can drive policy and systemic change to reduce stigma, improve accessibility and delivery of health for viral hepatitis.
